A complete list of connections between he staff and players for the Titans and Chiefs

  • Chiefs defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham served as asst. head coach/linebackers with the Titans from 2001-2003 and helped Keith Bulluck make his first Pro Bowl (2003).


  • Titans strength and conditioning coach Steve Watterson was an assistant trainer with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1984-85, Herman Edwards' final two seasons with the Eagles.


  • Titans tight ends coach John Zernhelt was the tight ends coach for the N.Y. Jets in 2005 as a member of Herman Edwards' staff. Zernhelt also served there with with current Chiefs asst. head coach/quarterbacks Dick Curl.


  • Titans asst. special teams coach Marty Galbraith is from Joplin, Mo. and played defensive back it Missouri Southern. He served as offensive line coach for the Chiefs in 1985.


  • Chiefs wide receivers coach Charlie Joiner started his Hall of Fame career as a member of the Houston Oilers. He was drafted by the Oilers in the fourth round of the 1969 AFL-NFL Draft and totaled 106 receptions for 1,919 yards and 14 touchdowns with the team from 1969-72.


  • Chiefs defensive assistant Mike Ketchum was a defensive lineman at University of the South (Sewanee, Tenn.) before coaching at Cumberland (1999-00) and Vanderbilt (2001-02).


  • Titans wide receivers coach Fred Graves began his coaching career at Northeast Missouri State as tight ends/receivers coach from 1975-76.


  • Titans asst. head coach/linebackers Dave McGinnis was born in Independence, Kan. He has coached at Missouri (1975-77) and Kansas State (1983-85).


  • Titans special teams coach Alan Lowry and Chiefs offensive coordinator Mike Solari coached together with the Dallas Cowboys (1987-88) and the San Francisco 49ers (1992-95).


  • Titans center/guard Eugene Amano was the NCAA I-AA Dave Rimington Award winner as an offensive lineman at Southeast Missouri State.


  • Titans linebacker Rich Scanlon originally signed with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent in 2004. He collected 44 special teams tackles in three seasons with the Chiefs before joining the Titans in 2007.


  • Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt graduated from Bearden (Knoxville, Tenn.) High School before attending the University of Tennessee, where he became the school's all-time leader with 240 career punts.


  • Titans wide receiver Justin Gage played quarterback and defensive back at Jefferson City (Mo.) High School. He then went on to become a three-time All-Big 12 performer at Missouri, where he recorded 200 career receptions for 2,704 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also played on Missouri's basketball team for three years.


  • Chiefs defensive end Turk McBride was a first team All-SEC selection in his final season at the University of Tennessee, where he contributed 121 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 43 career games.


  • Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle is from Rainbow City, Ala., an approximate three-hour drive from Nashville. He played at Westbrook Christian High School before starring at the University of Alabama.


  • Chiefs WR Bobby Sippio played cornerback and safety at Western Kentucky University, where he earned Division I-AA All-American honors.
