The Titans select.....

The speculation continues as TitansInsiders.com reveal who they think is the most likely selection by the Titans in Saturday's draft.

Who or what position will the Titans select in the first round of the 2008 draft? That is the question that every Titans' fan is asking themselves. While most would hope or think that a receiver or a running back might be what they would select, but experience would lead them in another direction.

We feel very strongly that they will go after a defensive lineman with the 24th pick overall in this years draft. With the likes of Glenn Dorsey, Chris Long, Sedrick Ellis, Derrick Harvey and Vernon Gholston all being off the board there are several other players that could step in and help the Titans defense this year.

Likely available at 24

Quinton Groves          DE      6'-3" 252        Auburn

Phillip Merling            DE      6'-5" 270        Clemson

Calais Campbell       DE      6'-7" 280        Miami

All three of these guys would be good picks for the Titans unless a Ellis or Harvey could fall to them on Saturday. Groves appears to be ranked by most a little higher on their draft board, but Campbell might be the sleeper of the draft.

As every Titans fan knows that the Titans will look the most strongly at what ever player is ranked the highest on the draft board no matter what the position might be.
