|How Acquired: Signed as an unrestricted free agent Sept. 12, 2011.
Injury History: Missed one game in 2010 with a knee injury and was sidelined in 2006 while playing for Miami when he suffered a sprained right foot in training camp and was subsequently released.
2013: Was active for all 16 games, making two starts at guard (Nov. 11 vs. Washington and Dec. 15 vs. Philadelphia). Started at left guard, replacing Charlie Johnson, against the Redskins, and at right guard in place of Brandon Fusco vs. the Eagles.
2012: Played in all 16 games, mostly on special teams. Only played in three snaps on offensive as a backup interior lineman.
2011: Was released Sept. 5 by the Miami Dolphins. Was signed by the Vikings Sept. 12 and was inactive for the first two games with the team. Played in the final 13 games of the season, starting six – four at right guard and two at left guard.
2010: Started 14 of 15 games he played at center for Miami.
2009: Signed by Miami as an unrestricted free agent and played in all 16 games for the Dolphins, starting the final six games at center.
2008: Played in five games as a special teamer for the Dallas Cowboys and was inactive for the final 11 games of the season.
2007: Was active for three games for the Cowboys and played in just one – the fourth quarter of the season finale. Was inactive for the other 13 games.
2006: Was cut by the Dolphins after being inactive with a sprained right foot during training camp and, after being released, was claimed by the Cowboys off waivers Nov. 24. Was listed as inactive for all 11 games he was with Miami and all five with Dallas.
2005: Was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2005 draft. Was cut and re-signed to the practice squad, but was claimed Sept. 7 by Miami after Week 1, where he was active for the final three games after being listed as inactive for 12 games.
College: Was a walk-on at Michigan Tech but started 28 games – 25 at right tackle and three at left tackle as a redshirt freshman. He was a two-time First Team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference selection. As a senior he won the Jim Langer Award at the Cactus Bowl – an award given annually to the most valuable linemen at the Division II college all-star game. Graduated Magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at MTU.
Personal: Was an all-conference left tackle and team captain as a senior at Newaygo (Mich.) High School and was an Academic All-State honorable mention as a senior. A two-year starter, he also excelled on defense – posting 238 tackles and one interception in two seasons as a linebacker.
