|How Acquired: Signed with the Vikings during training camp in 2007.
2013: Played in 14 games, making three starts, giving him 95 games played as a Viking during his career and had half of his six career starts during the season. Recorded 21 tackles, four quarterback hurries, four passes defensed, two tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble. He had a season-high four tackles in two games – Sept. 8 at Detroit and Oct. 21 at the New York Giants. Was inactive for two games (vs. Dallas and Washington) with a knee injury.
2012: Played in 16 games, starting one, as a rotational nose tackle. Recorded 28 tackles, six for a loss, two sacks, six quarterback hurries and two passes defensed. Had five tackles and one tackle-for-loss against Green Bay in the Wild Card loss.
2011: Played in all 16 games, finishing the season with 35 tackles, just three short of his first four seasons with the Vikings combined. Also added five tackles for a loss and 11 quarterback hurries.
2009: Posted 11 tackles in 13 games as a backup defensive tackle. Tied for the team lead with five QB hurries in the divisional playoff win against Dallas after posting only four in the regular season.
2008: Played in all 17 games, starting the final three (including the playoff game against Philadelphia) for an injured Pat Williams. Compiled four tackles and recovered a fumble in the playoff game. For the season, had 17 tackles (including one for a loss) and 16 QB hurries.
2007: Was set to play a key role in the Dolphins’ defensive line rotation, but they abruptly severed ties with Evans after legal troubles earlier in 2007. Served a two-game suspension for those incidents while with the Vikings, but ended up playing in 11 games, recording five tackles, two quarterback hurries and a sack.
2006: Played in one game with the Dolphins, recording two tackles and was running with the first-team in preseason workouts until his incident and subsequent release. A seventh-round draft pick from Texas State-San Marcos by the Dolphins.
College: Redshirted at the College of DuPage in 2001. In 2002, he played on the defensive line and then shifted to the offensive line as a sophomore (2003), earning All-Region honors. Transferred to Texas State-San Marcos in 2004, shifting back to defensive tackle, earning first-team All-Southland Conference and Newcomer of the Year honors. Started 10 games for the Bobcats, registering 40 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles-for-loss (fifth-best total in the NCAA Division 1-AA ranks). Also caused a fumble and deflected one pass. Added All-American honors in 2005 and was again chosen to the All-Southland Conference first team and named Defensive Player of the Year. Collected 55 tackles (24 solos) with five sacks, five pressures and 18 stops behind the line of scrimmage. In 24 games with Texas State, Evans collected 95 tackles with 11.5 sacks, 35.5 TFL and 10 quarterback pressures. Forced two fumbles and deflected one pass.
