Brett Favre's 259 passing yards gave him 16,005 in the month of October, an NFL record for most in that month. Favre previously owned all other months except October. He now has 16,005 yards in all of his NFL Octobers, passing Fran Tarkenton (15,756) and Dan Marino (14,783).
Favre's 32 passing attempts make him the first player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career passing attempts. Marino is next with 8,358.
Percy Harvin is the first Vikings player to reach 1,000 combined net yards in the first seven games twice in a career. Adrian Peterson holds the seven-game mark, gaining 1,251 combined net yards after seven games in 2007.
Harvin had his second career 100-yard game receiving.
With Adrian Peterson's 50 yards receiving, he becomes the 17th Vikings running back to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a career and moves into 16th place in team history. Bill Brown holds the record with 3,177 yards receiving from 1962-74. Peterson has 1,023 yards receiving in his career.
Peterson's rushing touchdown moves him into 10th place for most in a player's first four NFL seasons. Peterson has 46 TDs. Terrell Davis holds the record with 56 from 1995-98.
Peterson set a team record for most yards rushing through the first seven games of any season. He joins Robert Smith as the only Vikings players to reach 700 yards though seven games twice. Peterson has 776, surpassing Smith's 745 from the first seven games of 1997.
Peterson set a personal best for most yards gained from scrimmage after the first seven games of any season. He has 970 scrimmage yards so far this season and becomes the first player in team history to reach 900 yards twice. Chuck Foreman has the record with 1,006 yards after seven games in 1976.
E.J. Henderson becomes only the eighth linebacker in team history to play in 100 games. Scott Studwell holds the record with 202 games from 1977-90.
Tarvaris Jackson's 33-yard run was his career longest and the seventh-longest by a Vikings quarterback. Tarkenton holds the QB record with a 52-yard run against Los Angeles in 1961.
