Record-seekers vs. Redskins

Despite being injured and leaving the game in the second quarter, Adrian Peterson continued his assault on the Vikings record book. Brett Favre and Ryan Longwell also moved up the NFL and team record books.

  • Adrian Peterson's rushing total after 11 games ranks fifth in a Vikings season. Peterson has now reached 1,000 yards by the 11th game in each of his four seasons. He has 1,016 yards rushing so far this season, trailing his 11th-game totals from 2007 (1,081), 2009 (1,084) and 2008 (1,180). Robert Smith had 1,128 yards after 11 games in 2000.

  • Peterson tied Smith's record for most consecutive seasons (four) with 1,000 yards rushing. Smith did that from 1997-2000.

  • Peterson is the eighth Viking to reach 50 combined touchdowns, joining Sammy White (50), Ted Brown (53), Anthony Carter (54), Chuck Foreman (75), Bill Brown (76), Randy Moss (93) and Cris Carter (110).

  • Brett Favre played in his 300th NFL regular-season game. He becomes only the seventh player to accomplish that, joining John Carney (302), Jerry Rice (302), George Blanda (340), Jeff Feagles (352), Gary Anderson (353) and Morten Anderson (382).

  • Ryan Longwell becomes the sixth player to reach 500 points as a Viking, joining Anderson (542), Fuad Reveiz (598), Moss (564), Carter (670) and Fed Cox (1,365).

  • Longwell is the fourth Viking to score in his 50th consecutive game, joining Anderson (54), Reveiz (76) and Cox twice (50 and 151).

  • Letroy Guion registered his first NFL sack.

  • Toby Gerhart had a personal-best 22 rushing attempts and 76 yards rushing and scored his first NFL touchdown. His 22 attempts rank third-most by a Viking in the Washington series. Smith had 24 in 1998 and Chester Taylor had 31 in 2006 against the Redskins.

  • E.J. Henderson had his fifth career interception. The last time a Vikings linebacker had a sack and an interception in the same game was on Oct. 14, 2007, when Ben Leber did it.
