Vikings trail 10-0 at half at Detroit

The Vikings' home away from home isn't treating them well. The Vikings are down 10-0 to the Detroit Lions at halftime.

The Lions scored a 55-yard field goal with 6:45 to play in the first half and then former Vikings wide receiver Nate Burleson caught a 7-yard touchdown with 23 seconds left in the first half.

Another former Viking, QB Shaun Hill completed a whopping 80 percent of his first-half passes for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Vikings QB Joe Webb is struggling, completing 7 of 13 passes for 60 yards and an interception and a 34.1 passer rating. The Vikings also are struggling running the ball. Webb leads them with 20 yards rushing while Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart have a combined 20 yards on 10 carries.

The Lions outgained the Vikings 217 total net yards to 100.

Favre finishes season, probably career, inactive

Brett Favre will finish the 2010 season – and likely his career – as a game-day inactive.

Favre reportedly passed his concussion test in the recent days, but that was only the first step in him being able to make it back in action. He has maintained that this is his last season playing and it appears his body is telling him the same thing. He has been inactive three out of the last four games with shoulder and head injuries, and the one game in the last four he did start (against Chicago), he was knocked out in the second quarter with his concussion.

If Favre's career is over, he finishes with NFL record marks of 508 touchdowns, 336 interceptions, 71,838 passing yards, 297 consecutive regular-season starts (that came to an end Dec. 13) and 23 games with four touchdown passes or more.

Rookie Joe Webb will make his second consecutive start.

Also inactive for the Vikings are QB Rhett Bomar (third QB), WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Sidney Rice, CB Asher Allen, LB Erin Henderson, T Thomas Welch, and DT Jimmy Kennedy.

With Rice out, the Vikings' wide receiving corps is also depleted. Bernard Berrian was added to the injury report on Saturday as questionable with a quadriceps injury, but he is active. Igleslias was signed Saturday off the Bears practice squad, but Hank Baskett got the call to action Sunday because of his familiarity with the system. It is just the third time in the last seven games that Baskett has been active.

Frank Walker is expected to get the start in the place of Asher Allen, who is dealing with an abdomen injury suffered Tuesday night.

Favre passes test, still unlikely to play

Vikings QB Brett Favre passed his concussion test but he hasn't been cleared yet to play, interim head coach Leslie Frazier told ESPN's Ed Werder. Frazier maintained what he's been saying all week – that it will be tough for Favre to play.

"If we leave him doubtful, it should cover things with him," Frazier said Friday. "Never rule him out. We won't rule him out."

It's unclear if Favre passed the exercise portion of the NFL's concussion protocol, but he would need to pass pregame tests Sunday morning in order to play.

Favre remains listed as doubtful and rookie Joe Webb would start if Favre doesn't play.

Vikings sign receiver, add Berrian to injury report

The Vikings made a pair of moves Saturday at the receiver position.

They added receiver Bernard Berrian to the injury report as questionable with a quadriceps injury and signed receiver Juaquin Iglesias from the Bears practice squad to Minnesota's 53-man roster.

In order to make room for Iglesias, the Vikings placed safety Tyrell Johnson (knee) on injured reserve.

Iglesias is a 6-foot-1, 210-pounder who was a third-round selection for the Bears in 2009. He spent most of his time with the Bears on their practice squad.

At Oklahoma, he was a four-year letter winner and started 39 of 54 games. He caught 202 passes for 2,821 yards – both marks the second-best in Sooners history. His 19 touchdowns rank third in Sooners history and he also returned 63 kickoffs for 1,664 yards and a touchdown. He became a third-team All-American as a senior and was a two-time all-Big 12 honoree.
