Record-seekers vs. Falcons
GAME NOTES vs. FALCONS
Percy Harvin set an NFL record for longest non-scoring kickoff return of 104 yards.
Percy Harvin had his seventh career game with more than 200 combined net yards, extending his franchise lead in that category. Harvin had three such games in each of his first two seasons. This was the first one this year.
Harvin moved into fourth place in Vikings history for most receptions in a player's first three seasons with the team. Randy Moss had 226, Rickey Young had 224 and Jermaine Wiggins had 186. Harvin has 182 and counting.
Christian Ponder had his second passer rating of 100-plus and needs one more to tie Fran Tarkenton's franchise record for three 100-plus ratings as a rookie. Ponder had a 103.1 rating against Atlanta and a 102.7 rating against Carolina on Oct. 30.
Ponder moved into second place for most passing touchdowns in a season by a Vikings rookie. He has six of them now, moving ahead of Tommy Kramer's five from 1977 but still well behind Fran Tarkenton's 18 from 1961.
Ponder set a team record for most games as a rookie without an interception thrown (20 attempts minimum). He has done that twice. Fran Tarkenton did it once in 1961, against the Chicago Bears in the season opener.
Ponder becomes only the second Vikings rookie to reach 1,000 yards passing in a season. He has 1,141 yards, trailing Tarkenton's 1,997 yards from the 1961 season.
Chris Kluwe tied Greg Coleman for the team record for most consecutive games played (94) by a punter in Vikings history.
