Record-seekers vs. Lions
GAME NOTES vs. LIONS
Joe Webb set a team record most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback. He had 109 yards rushing, 10 more than the old franchise mark by Fran Tarkenton (Nov. 5, 1961).
Webb set a team record for the longest run in a game by a QB with his 65-yard touchdown, surpassing Tarkenton's 52-yard touchdown run from Nov. 5, 1961.
Webb's run of 65 yards was the sixth-longest by a QB in NFL history. Kordell Stewart holds that record with an 80-yard TD on Dec. 22, 1996.
Jared Allen moved into third place in the NFL for most sacks after 13 games in a season. He has 17.5, which trails the 13-game mark of 19 sacks set by Bruce Smith in 1990.
Allen moved into seventh place in Vikings history for most sacks in a season and already has his career high with 17.5 Chris Doleman holds the franchise record with 21 sacks in 1989, followed by Keith Millard (1989) and Alan Page (1976), who are tied with 18.
Allen moved into second place in NFL history for most sacks in a player's first eight seasons. Allen has 100.5, becoming only the second player in NFL history to reach 100 in a career in eight seasons. Reggie White holds the NFL mark with 124 from 1985-92.
Allen moved into seventh place in team history for career QB sacks. He has 57.5 as a Viking, passing Henry Thomas' 56. Carl Eller holds the franchise record with 130.
Percy Harvin became the third Viking to reach 200 receptions in a player's first three seasons. He now has 200, trailing Rickey Young (224) and Randy Moss (226) over their first three years with the team.
Toby Gerhart caught his first career TD pass.
Sunday marked only the second time in team history that two quarterbacks each attempted 20-plus passes, and both of those marks came against Detroit. Webb had 23 and Ponder had 21 attempts on Sunday. On Dec. 17, 1994, Brad Johnson had 29 attempts and Warren Moon had 22.
