Adrian Peterson's 84 yards rushing set a team record for most career yards, breaking Robert Smith's career mark. Peterson is now at 6,836. Smith had 6,818.
Peterson set a team record for most rushing touchdowns vs. the Jaguars in the series with his two scores.
Peterson moves into third place for most career rushing attempts. Bill Brown holds the record with 1,627 and Chuck Foreman had 1,529. Peterson has 1,423, just ahead of Robert Smith's 1,411.
Blair Walsh set a team record for longest field goal in a season opener and became the fourth player to make a kick of 50 yards or more in the opener, joining Paul Edinger (53 in 2005), Jan Stenerud (52 in 1984) and Fuad Reveiz (50 in 1992).
Walsh set a team record for longest field goal vs. Jacksonville in the series, and was the third Viking to make kick of 50 or more against the Jaguars, joining Ryan Longwell (54 in 2008) and Gary Anderson (53 in 1998).
Walsh's 55-yard field goal is tied for second-longest in team history, joining Longwell vs. Chicago in 2007. Edinger had a 56-yarder against Green Bay in 2005 to own the franchise mark.
Percy Harvin set a team record for most combined net yards in a season opener with 192, breaking Bob Reed's record of 163 from the 1962 opener.
Harvin becomes the fifth player in team history to reach 100 career kickoff returns. He has 101, with Eddie Payton (104), David Palmer (145), Qadry Ismail (147) and Darrin Nelson (159) ahead of him.
Matt Kalil becomes only the third player in team history to block a PAT in a season opener. He becomes the first to accomplish that vs. Jacksonville. The last time a Vikings player blocked a PAT was Ray Edwards vs. Carolina, 12/20/09.
Chris Kluwe becomes the first punter in team history to play in 100 consecutive games. Greg Coleman is next closest with 94.
Antoine Winfield moves into fourth place for most career solo tackles by a defensive back. Winfield has 523, with Robert Griffith (543), Joey Browner (666) and Tommy Hannon (700) ahead of him.
Christian Ponder's 270 yards passing ranks fifth-highest for a season opener. Ahead of him are Fran Tarkenton (282 in 1978), Tommy Kramer (297 in 1979), Steve Dils (361 in 1981) and Kramer again (395 in 1980).
Harrison Smith is the sixth rookie safety to start a season opener. Previous players were Chuck Lamson (1962), Terry Kosens (1963), Willie Offord (2002), Greg Blue (2006) and Tyrell Johnson (2008).
Matt Kalil is the fifth rookie tackle to start a season opener. Previous players were Doug Davis (1966), Everrett Lindsay (1993), Todd Steussie (1994) and Phil Loadholdt (2009).
The Vikings are now 4-1 vs. the Jaguars and 29-22-1 on season openers. The Vikings have won 18 of 25 season openers at home.
