Training Camp Tips and Hints

  • Occasionally the bleachers will fill up so it's not a bad idea to bring along a lawn chair or blanket.

  • Players begin to file onto the field 30 to 45 minutes before the start of practice but will not sign autographs until the sessions ends.

  • There is a lot to do while you are waiting for the next practice to start each day. Mankato has a large shopping mall and two large theaters.

  • In the evenings you are liable to see some players at the Albatross restaurant/bar or Boomtown restaurant/bar across the street from the practice fields.

  • Directions from Minneapolis to Mankato. Minnesota State-Mankato is 90 miles south of the Twin Cities. Take Highway 169 south to the Riverfront Drive exit. Make a left at the light. Take Riverfront Drive to Stoltzman and make a right. Take Stoltzman for two miles to Stadium Road. Make a left on Stadium Road and it will lead to the practice fields.

Remember to always say thank you when players take the time for an autograph and or picture.
