The Vikings partake in their 37th training camp at Minnesota State, Mankato, the second-longest training camp arrangement in the NFL. Inside, find information on practice times, directions, weather reports and hints to help you make the most of the 2003 camp.
Admission is free to Minnesota Vikings regular practices in Mankato. Bleachers
are set up around the practice fields for fans.
Tips and Hints
Occasionally the bleachers will fill up
so it's not a bad idea to bring along a lawn chair or blanket.
Players begin to file onto the field 30
to 45 minutes before the start of practice but will not sign autographs
until the sessions ends.
There is a lot to do while you are
waiting for the next practice to start each day. Mankato has a large shopping
mall and two large theaters.
In the evenings you are liable to see
some players at the Albatross restaurant/bar or Boomtown restaurant/bar
across the street from the practice fields.
Directions from Minneapolis to Mankato.
Minnesota State-Mankato is 90 miles south of the Twin Cities. Take Highway
169 south to the Riverfront Drive exit. Make a left at the light. Take Riverfront
Drive to Stoltzman and make a right. Take Stoltzman for two miles to Stadium
Road. Make a left on Stadium Road and it will lead to the practice fields.
Remember to always say thank you
when players take the time for an autograph and or picture.
