Vikes Sign Howry

With less than a week to go before the start of training camp, the Vikings announced the second their rookie signings -- with more to come in the next few days.

It's become an ugly reality of the NFL -- money is money and the longer you don't have to pay it, the better. With less than a week to go until Vikings training camp -- other teams open this weekend -- an unprecedented number of rookies remain unsigned, as owners wait until the last minute to give up the bling that the players want/demand/earn.

The Vikings secured a second draft pick Friday, as seventh-round WR Keenan Howry signed on, joining sixth-round LB Mike Nattiel as signed drafted rookies.

VU has been told that Howry's deal is for three years and $950,000, with a modest $38,500 signing bonus.

More signings are expected in the coming days. Tradition -- new or old -- you have to love it.
