Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is fifth overall in Pro Bowl voting, but despite leading the NFL in rushing yards he isn't the top vote-getter among running backs.
The Texans' Arian Foster leads all running backs and is third overall with 333,396 votes from fans on NFL.com's Pro Bowl voting. Peterson has 298,323 votes.
Broncos QB Peyton Manning leads all balloting with 376,981 votes, followed by Patriots QB Tom Brady with 345,036 votes. In between Foster and Peterson is Packers QB Aaron Rodgers with 320,307 votes, meaning quarterbacks took three of the top five spots, with running backs filling the other two spots.
The Vikings were well-represented among the leaders at positions in the NFC.
Peterson led NFC running backs and rookie offensive tackle Matt Kalil led all NFC tackles with 74,615 votes. Percy Harvin wasn't the top vote-getter among NFC wide receivers (that honor belongs to the Giants' Victor Cruz), but Harvin was the top kick returner in the NFC with 50,994 votes.
The Vikings had one positional leader on defense, where DE Jared Allen garnered 150,611 votes.
The other top NFC leaders were Rodgers at QB, Packers FB John Kuhn, Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez, 49ers G Mike Iupati, Packers C Jeff Saturday, and 49ers K David Akers. In addition to Allen on defense, the NFC leaders were Bears DT Henry Melton, Packers OLB Clay Matthews, 49ers ILB Patrick Willis, Bears CB Tim Jennings, Packers SS Charles Woodson, Buccaneers FS Ronde Barber, Packer P Tim Masthay and 49ers coverage specialist C.J. Spillman.
Fan voting, which makes up one-third of the overall vote, continues at NFL.com/probowl through Dec. 17. Players and coaches' votes count toward two-thirds of the overall voting.
