Vikings sign free-agent CB Lacey

The Vikings signed free-agent cornerback Jacob Lacey to further bolster the depth in their secondary.

The Vikings signed free-agent cornerback Jacob Lacey, the team announced Monday, in addition to the previously reported signing of defensive end Lawrence Jackson.

Lacey will add depth to a secondary that also saw the drafting of first-round pick Xavier Rhodes Thursday night.

The 25-year-old Lacey has four years of NFL experience, spending his first three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and last year with the Detroit Lions.

The 5-foot-10, 177-pound cornerback started nine games as a rookie with the Colts in 2009, registering 85 tackles and three interceptions. In eight starts and 12 games the following year, he had 64 tackles and one interception, and he finished his Colts career with 72 tackles and one interception in 10 starts and 15 games played in 2011. He also had three forced fumbles in his final season with the Colts.

Last year with the Lions, he started nine of 11 games, making 36 tackles and an interception.
