Allen hasn't been involved in trade talks

The Vikings are reportedly open to discussing trade options for Jared Allen, but Allen said he hasn't been part of any conversation involving a potential trade.

Jared Allen said he hasn't had a conversation about being traded and wasn't interested in discussing in depth his thoughts about a potential trade.

The Vikings are open to listening to offers for Allen, according to FOX Sports, but because they could get a third-round pick if they lost him in free agency in 2014, any interested team would have to offer something better than that.

"Honestly, I'm not even going to address it. I'm not going to speculate on something that I haven't had a conversation about and I'm not going to speculate on something that hasn't happened," Allen said after the Vikings lost 44-31 to the Green Bay Packers to fall to 1-6 on the season. "I cross all bridges when I get to them and right now I'm trying figure out a way to make this defense better."

Allen is in the final year of his contract that has a $17.06 million cap figure and a $14.28 million base salary. The trade deadline is at 3 p.m. Central Tuesday.

He said the possibility of a trade never entered his mind during a game that left him frustrated.

"You know what? It's not even something I've got to worry about right now. I got no control over that stuff. It is what it is," he said. "I understand the league. I understand how it works. I'm not an idiot. But my goal is to play football. My goal is to go out and play and win. I go out every Sunday and I just give it everything I've got. Sometimes it's spectacular, sometimes you get double-teamed and sometimes you just can't get there on time. And then sometimes you lose. But losing in this kind of fashion, I don't know how to explain it."

The Packers converted 13 of 18 first downs and 2 of 2 fourth downs, had 464 total net yards and ran 73 offensive plays. They never had to punt and scored on every possession up until they kneeled down on the ball at the end of the game.

"It's embarrassing, flat out embarrassing. I don't think I've been part of a game where the team didn't have to punt. … It's ridiculous," Allen said.

"I'm embarrassed to have to keep saying it. What else can I say? I try to be as honest as I can with you guys. I don't know what else to say. I've never been a part of something like this."
