Head coach Mike Zimmer said Sullivan was able to do everything in Thursday’s practice, but the center was officially listed as limited and did not participate in the drills involving contact between the offensive and defensive lines during the media portion of practice.
Zimmer thinks guard Vladimir Ducasse (knee) will be ready to go Sunday after he fully participated during practice on Thursday. Sullivan and Ducasse were injured on the same first-quarter play in Sunday’s game.
Zimmer noted that everything is still influx on the offensive line with the injuries.
Cornerback Josh Robinson (ankle) limped off the practice field Thursday with an ankle injury, but Zimmer said Robinson wasn’t going too fast when it happened so he wasn’t sure how bad the injury was.
Linebacker Gerald Hodges (hamstring) is doing good and getting close to being able to be back on the field. He did not participate in practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. They have not yet discusses if he will play on Sunday or not.
Other injuries of note:
When Zimmer was in Dallas, he copied the Tampa-2 defense the Bucs were running with John Lynch and Warren Sapp. He studied all the guys that they had in Tampa Bay and ran the defense for a couple years.
In Zimmer’s first year as a coordinator with the Cowboys, they went almost exclusively to the Tampa-2 defense.
The reason he moved away from the Tampa-2 style is mostly because of personnel reasons, he said, but they still do some things similar. A lot of the blitzes that Zimmer uses now are still the same.
Zimmer doesn’t think the Tampa-2 is obsolete and noted the Vikings still use it sometimes.
