Robison is listed as probable, meaning he is a “virtual certainty” to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the massive bruise caused him to miss practice on Wednesday, make him limited on Thursday before practicing fully on Friday.
“Did you see it? It hurts as bad as it looks,” Robison said.
“What’s funny about it actually is everybody wants to see it again so it’s kind of awkward.”
Robison was good-natured in receiving questions and jokes about the injury from both reporters and apparently from teammates, too.
“It’s slowly spreading so it’s going to be fun to watch this thing grow,” he said. “… It’s just getting bigger and bigger.
“It’s tight. The worst really is sitting down for meetings and stuff like that. That’s probably the worst part of my day.”
Robison said he took a knee to his backside during a play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played only 40 defensive snaps on Sunday, his lowest total of the season.
“It’s a wonder it doesn’t happen more often. It’s just the hard hit that I took. It is what it is,” he said.
“It wasn’t on purpose, but it was just in the jumble of a play and it just caught me in the right place.” Officially, Robison was listed with a “glute” injury and had some laughs about it.
“It’s almost like every morning I come in here I just basically have to walk around with my pants down because everybody wants to see it every morning and see if it changes,” he joked.
“… Literally, just kind of like I’ve got a pain in the butt.”
While Robison and most of the rest of his teammates on the injury report are listed as probable, cornerback Jabari Price is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
The others listed as probable: CB Josh Robinson (ankle), DT Sharrif Floyd (ankle/knee), LB Gerald Hodges (hamstring), S Antone Exum (ankle/shoulder) and TE Chase Ford (foot).
TE Kyle Rudolph remains out after surgery to repair a sports hernia in September.
For the Washington Redskins, CB Bashaud Breeland (knee) is questionable. All others – S Ryan Clark (ankle/shoulder), T Trent Williams (knee), QB Robert Griffin III (ankle), LB Ryan Kerrigan (wrist), LB Trent Murphy (knee), CB Tracy Porter (hamstring), LB Perry Riley Jr. (knee) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) – are probable.
