The Vikings have agreed to terms with 10 undrafted free agents in the ramp-up to their rookie minicamp this weekend.
The players are expected to sign their contracts when they arrive in Minnesota on Thursday as part of their check-in before the start of the three-day minicamp on Friday.
Four the Vikings’ 10 undrafted free agents were ranked in the top 350 in Scout.com’s draft rankings.
Quarterback Taylor Heinicke (Old Dominion) leads the rookie free-agent class in recognition, but safety Anthony Harris (Virginia) is considered a strong candidate to push for a roster spot, too.
In addition to Heinicke on offense, the Vikings added three receivers – DaVaris Daniels of Notre Dame, Jordan Leslie of BYU and Gavin Lutman of Pittsburg State. The offensive line also received an infusion of young prospects with center Tom Farniok of Iowa State and guards Jesse Somsel of Saginaw Valley State and Bob Vardaro of Boston College. Fullback Blake Renaud of Boise State also agreed to terms.
On defense, in addition to Harris, the Vikings added cornerback Justin Coleman of Tennessee. Coleman (5-11, 186) was ranked 195th in Scout.com’s draft rankings.
The others ranked in the top 350 for the Vikings: Harris (6-foot-1, 188 pounds) checked in at No. 210; Daniels (6-2, 203) was 284th; and Leslie (6-2, 204) was ranked 316th.
