The Minnesota Vikings placed receiver Gavin Lutman on waived/injured and signed 2014 undrafted defensive tackle Greg Hickman of Florida International.
Lutman, who was signed as an undrafted rookie this year, hasn’t practiced in weeks for the Vikings because of a hamstring injury and the Vikings finally decided to move on without him.
Hickman was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft out of Florida International, where he played on the same defensive line as Isame Faciane, who is transitioning to guard for the Vikings this year.
Hickman had 116 total tackles (82 solo), 13 sacks for 72 yards, three interceptions, four pass breakups and seven forced fumbles in his collegiate career with the Panthers. Detroit released Hickman on Aug. 23 last year and he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from Sept. 21 to April 30.
