Minnesota Vikings injury report: Barr, Kendricks both miss practice

The Minnesota Vikings’ impressive young linebacker duo both missed practice Wednesday, as well as three other starters.

Preparing for the leading candidate for NFL rookie of the year in St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley, the Minnesota Vikings had their two best linebackers and a starting defensive tackle sit out of Wednesday’s practice with injuries.

Anthony Barr was out with a lower back injury and rookie Eric Kendricks was out with a rib injury. Kendricks is second on the team in tackles (50), sacks (4.0) and tackles-for-loss while Barr is fourth in tackles (42) and has 1½ sacks.

The Vikings were also with starting defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, who missed the last two games with knee and ankle injuries.

Also missing practice Wednesday was rookie Stefon Diggs (hamstring), who leads the team in receiving yards (419), and starting center Joe Berger (chest).

Defensive end Justin Trattou returned to practice on a limited basis on his way back from a foot injury, and defensive end Everson Griffen (neck), defensive tackle Tom Johnson (knee) and linebacker Audie Cole (finger) were also limited.

The Rams also had several starters that missed practice, including DE Chris Long (knee), DE Robert Quinn (knee) and T Rob Havenstein (ankle).
