Harrison Smith added to Minnesota Vikings injury report

The Minnesota Vikings continue to deal with injuries to starters, and that list now includes safety Harrison Smith.

The Minnesota Vikings’ injury report grew by one on Thursday after having five starters not practice on Wednesday.

Starting safety Harrison Smith was added to Thursday’s report with a neck injury that limited him.

Starting linebackers Anthony Barr (lower back) and Eric Kendricks (ribs) didn’t participate for the second straight day, but center Joe Berger (chest) and receiver Stefon Diggs (hamstring) returned to practice on a limited basis after missing Wednesday.

“I’m not going to talk about the injuries, but I’m not concerned, no,” head coach Mike Zimmer said about Kendricks and Barr being out. “I wasn’t concerned when (Everson) Griffen had to go out and we had to bring Danielle Hunter in. We go out and play with the next guy that’s there, whoever it is, if they don’t make it. If they do make it then it’s good.”

Starting defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee/ankle) remained out.

That means seven starters were either out or limited in Thursday’s practice, a tally that includes defensive end Everson Griffen (limited with a neck injury).
