Minnesota Vikings send Audie Cole to IR, sign LB

The Minnesota Vikings sent Audie Cole to injured reserve on Tuesday and signed a veteran linebacker to replace him.

The Minnesota Vikings have placed linebacker Audie Cole on injured reserve after he suffered a fractured ankle in the second half of Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.

With Cole’s season over, the Vikings used his roster spot to sign another veteran linebacker, Jason Trusnik.

Trusnik was released by the Carolina Panthers during their final roster cuts in September.

Trusnik entered the league in 2007 as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets. He was traded to Cleveland in 2009 and spent a year and half there. In 2011, he signed with the Miami Dolphins, where he played under George Edwards, and appeared in all 64 games in four seasons – the 2012-13 seasons with Edwards.

In eight NFL seasons, Trusnik has appeared in 109 games with 24 starts, garnering 146 tackles, four passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
