Teddy Bridgewater returned to practice for Minnesota Vikings, Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks sit

Teddy Bridgewater returned to practice on Wednesday, but the linebacker situation is still up in the air with Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr.

Teddy Bridgewater was back at Minnesota Vikings practice on Wednesday as he works to clear concussion protocol.

Bridgewater wasnt available to talk to reporters because he hasnt been fully cleared, but that could happen as soon as Thursday if he passed the post-exercise portion of the protocol. He was limited in Wednesdays practice.

About 90 minutes before the start of practice head coach Mike Zimmer said Bridgewater was still going through the concussion protocol after being hit in the head while sliding to the turf on Sunday and having his helmet bounce off the turf.

St. Louis Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner was flagged for roughing the passer on the hit that incensed Zimmer on the sidelines and again after the game during a post-game press conference. Zimmer has maintained he didn’t like the hit and Joyner is likely to be fined, but after talking about that hit and another one to Bridgewater’s knee in the St. Louis game, Zimmer was done talking about the hits on Wednesday.

Zimmer said before practice he wasn’t sure if Bridgewater would be able to practice but was “progressing nicely.” In fact, the quarterback was on the field going through practice in full pads during the portion open to the media.

Linebackers Eric Kendricks (ribs) and Anthony Barr (hand) were both at practice, but neither practiced. Barr wasn’t in pads. While Kendricks had pads on, he was running on the side for head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman at the start of practice.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee/ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis after missing the last three games and nose tackle Linval Joseph, the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, was limited with a foot injury.

Cornerback Terence Newman, who was also going through the concussion protocol earlier this week, was also at practice with full pads on, but was limited as well, as was CB Marcus Sherels (shoulder).

The Raiders also had some key players sitting out (see below).
