Cordarrelle Patterson and Adam Thielen made the most of their limited offensive playing time. Patterson played in just two offensive snaps and turned in a 6-yard run, and Thielen played one snap, a 14-yard run for a first down immediately after Patterson's run.
Their limited use showed just how intent the Vikings were on using their tight ends to help the running game. Kyle Rudolph played in 85 percent of the 62 offensive snaps, Rhett Ellison was used in 60 percent of the plays and MyCole Pruitt in 27 percent.
On defense, safeties Andrew Sendejo and Harrison Smith, along with cornerback Xavier Rhodes, played all 64 defensive snaps. The linebacker situation was the most precarious with Eric Kendricks out with a rib injury. Chad Greenway missed only one snap when he was banged up, and Anthony Barr missed only seven snaps while playing with a bum hand. Brandon Watts played in 23 snaps at Greenway's usual weakside spot while Greenway slid to the middle to cover for Kenricks.
