Harrison Smith, Everson Griffen don’t practice; 3 limited for Minnesota Vikings

Injuries prevented two key defenders from practicing Wednesday for the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings were without two of their key defenders at Wednesday’s practice. S Harrison Smith was out with a knee injury and DE Everson Griffen didn’t practice with shoulder and hip injuries.

Smith took a shot to his knee from CB Terence Newman during a scramble for a loose ball on Sunday.

In addition to them, S Robert Blanton (ankle), DT Sharrif Floyd (ankle) and T Matt Kalil (toe) were limited.

LBs Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr, along with QB Teddy Bridgewater, were all listed on the injury report but were full participants.

The Atlanta Falcons said star RB Devonta Freeman is still in the first phase of his concussion protocol and he didn’t practice on Wednesday. Neither did WR Leonard Hankerson.
