Minnesota Vikings’ big three defenders remain out

The Vikings were without perhaps their best three defensive players again on Tuesday as the team returned to practice.

The Minnesota Vikings’ big three defensive players – linebacker Anthony Barr, nose tackle Linval Joseph and safety Harrison Smith – all remained out of practice as the team returned to Winter Park after a four-day weekend following their Thursday night game.

None of those three played in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week. Joseph is dealing with a toe injury, Barr has groin and hand injuries, and Smith is dealing with hamstring and knee injuries. Barr and Smith left in the first quarter of the Vikings’ previous game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Vikings were also missing defensive end Scott Crichton at Tuesday’s practice. He was listed on last week’s injury report with an ankle injury but left the fourth quarter of the game with another injury.

But the injury news wasn’t all bad, as safety Andrew Sendejo, who missed the last two games with a knee injury, was practicing on Tuesday, as was reserve linebacker Brandon Watts, who missed the Arizona game with a rib injury.
