Report: Raiders, not Minnesota Vikings, to sign Kelechi Osemele

The Vikings reportedly lost out in the negotiations with free-agent offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele.

The top offensive lineman in free agency has reportedly agreed to a rich deal with the Oakland Raiders, according to NFL Network.

The Minnesota Vikings were in the bidding process for Kelechi Osemele, according to numerous reports, but the Raiders have more than $65 million in cap space, which is more than double what the Vikings have.

“Osemele’s market was incredibly hot,” NFL Network’s Rand Getlin tweeted. “When the deal is announced, it’ll blow the top off of the OG market.”

The deal can’t be announced until Wednesday afternoon, when the free agency period officially begins, but the report states the Raiders and Osemele have an agreement in principle.

The Vikings have also reportedly shown interest in Cleveland Browns free-agent right tackle Mitchell Schwartz.
