Minnesota Vikings cancel practice, set scrimmage dates with Cincinnati Bengals

The Vikings cancelled their final day of minicamp, but players are still around.

The Minnesota Vikings cut short their mandatory minicamp with one day remaining.

Players were still at Winter Park on Thursday morning, but they won’t be going through practice. Zimmer and players were still scheduled to be available to the media around noon, but after 10 organized team activities and two minicamp practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, practices ended early.

The Vikings will report to training camp in Mankato on July 28 with the first practice on July 29. However, it will be shortened version in Mankato. Their last practice in Mankato will be Aug. 9.

The team has elected to have two joint practices with the Cincinnati Bengals in advance of their preseason opener. Zimmer’s current team, the Vikings, and the team for which he coordinated their defense, the Bengals, will open the preseason on Aug. 12 in Cincinnati. But they will also scrimmage on Aug. 10 and Aug. 11 in Cincinnati.
