Counting snaps: Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers

The Minnesota Vikings used a heavy dose of Stefon Diggs and Kyle Rudolph in Sunday night’s win over the Green Bay Packers.

A couple of the Minnesota Vikings’ skill-position players took on heavy duty on Sunday night.

WR Stefon Diggs, who had nine catches for 182 yards and a touchdown, played in 88 percent of the Vikings’ 58 offensive snaps. But he was outdone by TE Kyle Rudolph, who played in 97 percent of the snaps and had three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the back end of the defense saw the most action, with safeties Andrew Sendejo and Harrison Smith and linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks playing in all 71 defensive snaps.

The Vikings got a little rest for their starting cornerbacks, Terence Newman and Trae Waynes, but not much. Newman was spelled for only two snaps and Waynes got four snaps off, as head coach Mike Zimmer said he tried to find spots to rest them against the Packers’ no-huddle offense.
