Minnesota Vikings Hall of Famers to be honored

Minnesota Vikings Hall of Famers will be presented a new Ring of Excellence during halftime Thursday night.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will honor Minnesota Vikings Hall of Fame players during an alumni dinner Wednesday night in Minneapolis and again during a public ceremony at halftime of Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hall of Fame president David Walker will be at U.S. Bank Stadium for a halftime ceremony Thursday night presenting Vikings Hall of Famers with their Ring of Excellence, produced by Kay Jewelers.

Cris Carter (Hall of Fame Class of 2013), Chris Doleman (2012), Carl Eller (2004), Bud Grant (1994), Paul Krause (1998), Randall McDaniel (2009), Alan Page (1988), John Randle (2010), Mick Tingelhoff (2015) and Ron Yary (2011) will be on hand for the ceremony (Carter and Tingelhoff received their rings in recent years but will join the group).

The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is among three symbols that represent the elite status of being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Each Hall of Famer received their Hall of Fame gold jacket and unveiled their bronzed bust during each of their respective enshrinements. All three symbols will be displayed during the Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence presentation Thursday night.

As part of the partnership between the Hall of Fame and Kay Jewelers, all living members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will receive the new Ring of Excellence that was designed by Kay® Jewelers in 2013. This year marks the second of three seasons in which the Ring of Excellence will be presented to the Hall of Famers in special ceremonies.
