WR Stefon Diggs, CB Terence Newman active for Minnesota Vikings

Stefon Diggs is active for the Minnesota Vikings’ Thursday night game against the Dallas Cowboys after missing their game last Thursday.

With Mike Zimmer out after having surgery to repair a detached retina, the Minnesota Vikings will at least have their players that were listed as questionable active for Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Leading receiver Stefon Diggs, who is fourth in the NFL with 67 catches, is active and expected to start after missing the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury. Diggs was limited in practices on Monday and Tuesday but participated fully on Wednesday.

Also active is CB Terence Newman, who had his snaps limited on Thanksgiving with a neck injury.

The Vikings announced on Wednesday that starting center Joe Berger is out with a concussion, as are punt returner Marcus Sherels and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee).

CB Mackensie Alexander was doubtful with a groin injury and has been ruled out, making Newman’s availability even more important for at least added depth at the position.

Vikings inactives: QB Taylor Heinicke, CB Alexander, CB Sherels, C  Berger, T Rashod Hill, DT Floyd and DE Stephen Weatherly.

Cowboys inactives: QB Mark Sanchez, CB Morris Claiborne, S J.J. Wilcox, RB Jarius Jackson, LB Justin Durant, DE Ryan Davis and T Chaz Green.
