The Minnesota Vikings receiver corps will have a different look Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Leading receiver Stefon Diggs (hip) won’t play on Sunday and neither will rookie receiver Laquon Treadwell.
Diggs was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report, as was little-used rookie Laquon Treadwell (ankle). Both were held out of practices on Wednesday and Thursday, but Treadwell was limited on Friday and Diggs remained out.
In addition to those two receivers, Charles Johnson (knee) was listed as questionable after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday and then not practicing on Friday, but he will play on Sunday.
Because of all the injuries at the position, the Vikings promoted Isaac Fruechte from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Saturday and placed safety Andrew Sendejo (knee) on injured reserve to create a roster spot. Fruechte is active for his first NFL game.
The offense already knew it would be without RB Adrian Peterson for the 13th game this season, as he didn’t practice all week with knee and groin injuries and was ruled out on Friday.
In addition to those skill-position players on offense, left guard Alex Boone was listed as doubtful with a lower back injury and is inactive as well.
Joe Berger will start for Boone at left guard and Nick Easton at center for Berger. Cordarrelle Patterson will get the start in place of Diggs, Jerick McKinnon will start at running back and Anthony Harris at safety.
Vikings inactives: QB Taylor Heinicke, Peterson, Diggs, Treadwell, Boone, RB C.J. Ham and OL Willie Beavers.
Bears inactives: LB Pernell McPhee, LB Leonard Floyd, WR Daniel Braverman, DB Deon Bush, DB Bryce Callahan, RB Ka’Deem Carey, FB Paul Lasike.
