Minnesota Vikings to visit with RB Eddie Lacy

The Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to visit with former Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy in the coming days.

With Adrian Peterson looking for suitors on the free-agent market, the Minnesota Vikings are looking at their options for a replacement.

One of the first candidates? Former Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy, who will visit the Vikings and Seahawks over the next four days, as well as keeping his options open to re-sign with the Packers, according to his agency.

Lacy played only five games last year because of injury, but he averaged 5.1 yards per carry. In 2015, he played 15 games and averaged 4.1 yards. And his first two seasons with the Packers he rushed for more than 1,100 yards and averaged more than 4.3 yards per carry.

The big back has struggled to keep his weight down, but when at the right weight and motivated, he can be an effective back.

In seven games against the Vikings, Lacy has rushed for 618 yards, including four games that surpassed 100 yards, and averaged 4.45 yards per carry.
