At this time last year, U.S. Bank Stadium wasn’t quite ready for public use. Now that it is, the Minnesota Vikings are holding their 2017 DraftFest next Saturday, April 29, at the new stadium.
The Vikings don’t have a first-round pick, with the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. On Friday night, the Vikings are scheduled to pick once in the second round and twice in the third round.
But Saturday will feature the fourth through seventh rounds of the draft and gives the Vikings a better opportunity to have fans of all ages attend with picks being made often. The Vikings currently have five picks in the final four rounds on April 29 – two in the fourth round and one each in the fifth through seventh rounds.
DraftFest for the fans will take place from 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. with several current and former Vikings scheduled to attend, including WRs Stefon Diggs and Isaac Fruechte, DE Everson Griffen, TE David Morgan, LB Kentrell Brothers, along with former Vikings Chuck Foreman and Paul Krause.
The event will be tailgate-themed and allow fans to watch NFL Network’s coverage of the draft along with listening to a live KFAN broadcast with play-by-play man Paul Allen and former Vikings linebacker Ben Leber. Vikings cheerleaders, mascot Viktor and the Skol Line will make appearances, along with music by Davina and the Vagabonds and a football skills fan zone. Coors Light is also hosting a Baggo Challenge for the first 32 teams to register (the winning team will receive two tickets in Mystic Lake’s Club Purple for a future Vikings home game). The interactive Vikings Voyage inside U.S. Bank Stadium will also be open.
Note: Fans must be logged in to My Vikings account to access the discounted price. Non-Season Ticket Members can purchase tickets for $20 here (kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult).
