Injury Update

A brief update on eight injuries that could limit the Vikings' effectiveness against Denver on Sunday and in the weeks to come.

  • QB Daunte Culpepper, who hasn't played in 2-1/2 games because of fractured bones in his lower back, is practicing again and will start against Denver on Sunday.

  • WR Randy Moss, who has played the last four games with back spasms, has returned to practice and is near 100 percent.

  • DL Billy Lyon aggravated his calf injury and missed practice again on Wednesday.

  • LB Chris Claiborne is battling through nagging shoulder and heel injuries. He should be able to play Sunday.

  • WR D'Wayne Bates, who has missed three consecutive games because of a bruised bone in his foot, could miss a fourth after missing practice on Wednesday.

  • LB E.J. Henderson, who suffered a slight tear in his right rotator cuff against the Falcons, will play Sunday unless he suffers a setback in practice.

  • RB Michael Bennett, who fractured his foot in the offseason and is still on the physically unable to perform list, is jogging again and could return to practice as early as next week. The Vikings believe he can return for the Nov. 2 game against the Packers.

  • WR Nick Davis, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a shoulder injury, is practicing again.
