Return Game A Little Different

Return man Troy Walters says rotating between himself and Nate Jacquet isn't what most of the league does, but it could work for the Vikings.

After watching Nate Jacquet serve as the return man in the season opener against Carolina, Troy Walters returned punts and kickoffs against Chicago and Tampa Bay.

"It was great to be back in there," Walters said. "We did all right. I had that one fumble (against Chicago), but luckily we recovered it."

The Vikings' primary concern is in the kickoff return game. Coaches have given thought to using Jacquet for some games and Walters during others. "It's a little different," Walters said of the potential for rotating return men. "I don't think you see it around the league, but they have two guys that can make plays, so they are just going to utilize us by who has the hot hand or who is doing well."
