Apparently, you can go home again. At least if you're Dennis Green you can. The old ball coach will make his Cardinals coaching debut in familiar territory -- the Metrodome.
While no dates and times have yet been firmed up, VU has received the list of opponents for the four weekends of the preseason -- which won't get underway until Aug. 9.
At this point the league has only given specific dates and times for nationally televised games -- the Vikes have none in the preseason. Otherwise, they're broken down by the four-day windows for the weekend in which they would be played. Here is what we have so far as to the Vikings' role in all of this:
Aug. 12-16 -- vs. Arizona
Aug. 19-23 -- at Atlanta
Aug. 26-30 -- vs. San Francisco
Sept. 2-5 -- at Seattle
Both the times and dates of these games as well as the full regular season schedule, are due out within the next two or three weeks.
* Former Viking Todd Steussie signed a six-year, $20 million deal with the Buccaneers, who will have a vastly new look this year without John Lynch and Warren Sapp.
* The Giants made a waiver claim on former Viking Jack Brewer, which means they simply assume his $300,000 a year contract. Those of us at VU feel the Giants got a steal by making that move.
