As it has pertained to the Vikings, the only discussion involving them and World Wrestling Entertainment has been the remote possibility of signing former wrestler Brock Lesnar to a contract.
That changed Monday, at least for fans watching WWE Monday Night Raw on Spike TV. In a interview segment featuring the Rock on his hometown return to Miami, he acknowledged a couple of NFL players in the front row -- Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor of the Dolphins.
The Rock, who played for the University of Miami, also mentioned the school. Standing next to them was fellow Hurricane Bryant McKinnie.
While not mentioned by name, the Miami crowd gave McKinnie a huge ovation when he appeared on the in-house Jumbotron.
