The Vikings have been selling out the Metrodome every game since Randy Moss put on a uniform in 1998. The streak currently stands at 64 regular-season games in a row and the chances for fans who aren't season ticket holders to get their chance to see the boys live (without going through e-bay or a ticket broker) will likely come and go Saturday.
As is their habit, the Vikings will put a limited number of single-game tickets on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Metrodome ticket office at Gate B. One hour later, any remaining tickets will also be available for purchase through Ticketmaster (651-989-5151 or Ticketmaster.com). Over the last few years, these tickets have tended to go very quickly, so the best bet to get a seat is to do it the old-fashioned way -- sit your butt out overnight this Friday.
In an interesting twist, the Vikings announced that anyone purchasing tickets for the Packers game Christmas Eve will also have to buy a corresponding number of tickets for the preseason opener vs. the Cardinals.
There is a limit of 10 tickets per person when they go on sale Saturday. Vikings officials expect all the games will sell out, with the Bears and Packers likely to be gone by the time they're available at Ticketmaster.
* The NFL Cayman Challenge, with Daunte Culpepper as one of eight featured NFL players competing in a series of competitions, premieres tonight at 7 p.m. Central on NFL Network. The program, which focuses on the players' competitions and their vacation on the Cayman Islands with family, re-airs on Sunday at 8 p.m. Central. Culpepper is teamed with Atlanta's Brian Finneran, Baltimore's Ed Reed and Dallas' Marcellus Wiley on the blue team. Roy Williams (Cowboys), A.J. Feeley (Dolphins), Ephraim Salaam (Jaguars) and
Bubba Franks (Packers) are on the opposing red team. The teams face off in six different events, kayaking, snorkeling, "castaway," jet ski slalom, golf and a yacht race.
