Udeze Signs, Thomas Remains

The Vikings agreed to terms with one of their two unsigned picks Friday evening, leaving one defender not under contract 12 hours before the first practice on Saturday morning.

The Vikings agreed to terms with their first-round draft pick Kenechi Udeze Friday evening. Udeze, a defensive end from USC, signed a five-year deal and is expected to be at tomorrow morning's first practice in Mankato.

The Vikings have yet to reach an agreement with second-round pick Dontarrious Thomas, a linebacker from Auburn expected to compete for the starting job on the weak side.
