One of the worst jobs a coach has is telling a player who has spent years living out the dream of playing in the NFL that he just isn't good enough with that team at that time.
As a former player who found himself on the bubble a few times, Mike Tice can identify with it. As the Vikings prepare to cut more than a dozen players by tomorrow afternoon, Tice will have to let players know their dreams won't become reality.
With players like Brock Lesnar expected to be part of the opening batch of cuts, the Vikings plan to let some of the players know today that they'll be released instead of waiting until Tuesday to submit the full cut list to the league.
Look for the Vikings to go over the list of cuts from other teams in search of a kicker to provide competition for Aaron Elling, who Tice says won't be among the cuts made today or tomorrow, but whose position with the team is anything but safe.
