Jim Kleinsasser was expected to be a huge contributor to the Vikings offense, but, thanks to an MRI conducted Monday on his knee, he could be sidelined until after the Vikings' bye week or longer.
The MRI revealed a strain of the anterior cruciate ligament that may eventually require surgery. While that isn't the plan now -- rest is being viewed as the best option -- it remains a possibility.
While Kleinsasser is out, Jermaine Wiggins will assume his role as the No. 1 receiving tight end while Jeff Dugan will assume his role as a blocking tight end.
* Michael Bennett has been listed as out for next Monday's game at Philly.
* There is a good chance that Moe Williams might be forced to sit out next Monday's game too, which would leave the Vikings with just three healthy running backs.
