The Bears come into Sunday's game with the Vikings with the same advantage they had last week -- playing a team that is coming off a short week of preparation after playing a road Monday night game.
But, unlike the Packers game, not only are the Bears going to be without three of the four starters in the secondary, middle linebacker Brian Urlacher will be a game-time decision.
Urlacher tweaked a hamstring in practice and has been limited since. In the event he can't play, the nine-point Vegas point spread would appear to be a joke.
* Former Viking and VU peep Bill Brown will be inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor Sunday. It's an accolade long overdue for a Viking who is as much a part of the franchise lore as any of his Hall of Fame teammates.
* A blurb in Pro Football Weekly suggests that the Vikes may actually be better off because of the Ken Irvin injury. While VU doesn't buy into the theory, the story being passed on is that the team is more than happy with Terrance Shaw and Ralph Brown is an upgrade from Rushen Jones as the dime back.
* Mike Rosenthal is scheduled for surgery on his broken foot Monday.
* For those wondering why only one player -- TE Sean Berton -- was added to the 53-man roster when both Rosenthal and Jim Kleinsasser were put on injured reserve, Kenny Mixon is the answer. Mixon, who sat out a two-game suspension, wasn't on the 53-man roster. When he returned, had there been no injuries, someone would have needed to be cut.
