Moss Officially Out

If there was any doubt that Randy Moss wouldn't be in uniform Sunday, that came to an abrupt end Thursday, as Mike Tice officially announced Moss as out.

The number of people who held out hope that Randy Moss could recover enough to play against the Packers Sunday has been dwindling all week. Thursday, coach Mike Tice made it official, downgrading Moss from doubtful to out on the team's injury report.

Tice has come under considerable criticism from the national media for his handling of the Moss injury, using him as a crippled decoy for two weeks and potentially lengthening the healing period that now sits at four weeks.

There has been some talk that Moss may have to sit out the Lions game too, but no decision has yet been made at Winter Park concerning that eventuality.

* Antoine Winfield continues to earn his money. He leads the team with 68 tackles and is on pace for 136 tackles this year -- a number usually reserved for linebackers.
* Chris Claiborne practiced for a second straight day Thursday and is scheduled to start Sunday.
* Raonall Smith has returned from a specialist in Pittsburgh diagnosing his post-concussion disorder. Smith will miss Sunday's game and is doubtful vs. the Lions next week.
* Daunte Culpepper and Moss both made the Sports Illustrated midseason All-Pro team.
