Kevin Williams played a key role in the Vikings beating the Jaguars Sunday. As if his six tackles and one sack weren't enough, his 77-yard touchdown return of a fumble broke the Jags' back.
On Tuesday, he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
Williams has seven sacks as a defensive tackle -- second most in the NFL.
* The Vikings are hoping for a change when they travel to play the Bears. While the team has enjoyed moderate success against every other team in the division, they've lost their last three road games vs. the Bears. The first of those included the much-publicized Cris Carter blowup that led to the implosion of the team and the ouster of Denny Green as coach.
* If the playoffs were to start now, the Vikings would be at Seattle and the Rams would be in with a 5-6 record, while the 7-4 Ravens would be out in the AFC.
* The Vikes are going Good Will Hunting to help the secondary. The Vikings released linebacker Max Yates from the practice squad and are expected to announce the signing of defensive back Will Hunter today.
* For those who have not heard, Ken Jennings finally lost on Jeopardy after being on for almost six full months. You can resume enjoying the show once again.
