Coach Mike Tice and what remains of his assistant coaching staff left the Twin Cities Sunday for Mobile -- where some of the top college seniors will take part in the 2005 Senior Bowl.
With two weeks in between the conference title games and the Super Bowl itself, the time is spent by most coaching staffs to find the next big thing.
While Saturday's game takes center stage for the players, most of the coaches and scouts will be gone by then -- instead focusing on practice and drills. This will be the only opportunity prior to the Combine for many coaches to get a first-hand look at some of the college game's top seniors.
Don't be surprised to see at least one or two future Vikings playing in Saturday's Senior Bowl -- or for the Vikings to use the trip to talk to coaches about their own current openings on the staff.
