The NFL Network has become more of a player in the broadcasting of league games each year since its inception in 2003. This year, the network plans to televise 55 games in full in a 25-day span and VU has learned that three of the Vikings' four preseason games will be available on tape delay.
The schedule of games may require fans to activate their TiVo to get them down, but the schedule is as follows:
* The preseason opener vs. the Chiefs at the Metrodome will be broadcast at 6 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Aug. 14.
* After a week off, the Vikings' game vs. the Chargers will be broadcast at 11 a.m. CDT Monday, Aug. 29.
* The preseason finale at the Seahawks will be shown on tape delay at 11 p.m. CDT Sunday, Sept. 4.
For fans outside the reach of the local Twin Cities media market, this may be the only chance for Vikings fans to see games during the preseason. So, for fans with the NFL Network, mark down these dates and times and see who wins the position battles head coach Mike Tice has promised during the preseason.
