Corey Chavous and Brian Williams both believe they have legitimate gripes with the Vikings. Chavous, who is nearing the end of the line in his career, wants a new contract that will reward him for the next year or two. Williams, who is entering his fourth year, has been demoted to nickel back and was essentially removed from consideration by other teams as a restricted free agent when the Vikings slapped the franchise tag on him.
Neither player has showed up at Winter Park since, skipping all four voluntary off-season workout sessions and remaining mum about their contract status.
Chavous, who participated in the Leo Lewis Football Academy Monday, refused to comment on his status and both he and Williams have remained silent on their intentions. Rob Brzyzinski said he expects both of them to be in camp when it opens later this month. We'll have to wait and see if those words are accurate, because for now, neither of the players are talking.
Chavous Stays Mum
