Keenan Howry survived the final roster cut because his return ability superceded that of wide receiver Kelly Campbell. But, with the return of Nate Burleson and the ability to have other players as return men, Howry became expendable.
Within the last hour, the Vikings announced that Howry has been released from the 53-man roster. Taking his place on the roster is linebacker Heath Farwell, which could be a further indication that the Vikings intend to employ more 3-4 defensive fronts this week as they did last week vs. the Bears.
VU will update this story as part of our gameday update early Sunday morning.
