In what has become a flurry of activity, the Vikings are expected to announce as early as this morning that Buccaneers assistant Mike Tomlin will be named as the team's defensive coordinator.
Tomlin, who arrived in the Twin Cities Monday, was close to signing a deal Monday night and, word out of Tampa Bay is that the Bucs have resigned themselves to the fact that Tomlin is gone from their staff.
Tomlin is expected to implement his variation of the Tampa-2 defense first brought to the league by former Vikings defensive coordinator Tony Dungy.
* Mike Tice has been scheduled for an interview for the vacant Jets head coaching position.
* Darren Sharper and Koren Robinson each finished third in the voting for the Associated Press All-Pro team. Sharper finished third among safeties while K-Rob finished third among kick returners.
